Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace (RC Strasbourg), typically known as "Strasbourg," came into existence in 1906, following a merger between several regional clubs. The initiative was undertaken by a group of young men led by Alfred Wahl, striving to share their passion for football and build a collective identity. The club's establishment marked the advent of professional football in the eastern French city of Strasbourg.
In its early years, RC Strasbourg faced inevitable struggles like most newly formed teams, but it also achieved significant success relatively quickly. In 1923 ^1^, just seventeen years after its formation, it won the "Coupe d'Alsace" - marking the start of an illustrious history that would soon see them rise through French football hierarchy.
